  • System Tray

Officially called the “Notification Area,” Microsoft finally allows users the tools to organize your desktop area that is often messy. Users can have any icons that appear in the System Tray, change the icon’s position and whether they are allowed to draw the attention of the user with notification.

  • Jump List

Jump menu list will appear in the Start Menu or when users click on one of the Taskbar application, giving the user several options to perform various actions that supported the application. The figure below shows the jump list of Windows Media Player (WMP) which gives the user the option to play the song, see the last songs played, and much more.

  • User Account Control (UAC) Better

UAC is one of the most hated features of  Windows Vista users.   • “Peeking” (Peering)

Peeking features in Windows 7 enables users to quickly read the content in a window without the need to interact with these windows. Placing the mouse over the thumbnail window on Task Bar will change all the open windows to be transparent except the selected window.   • Sidebar No Longer Used
