Technology Windows Vista for Developers
. NET Framework 3.0, formerly WinFX, is a set of technologies that are also intended to be available to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Therefore this technology is not a technology that exclusion only for Vista, but it was designed for Vista development period.

The reason for this technology is more easily introduced to the developers and end-user, may be the basis of why Microsoft did na technology for the previous operating system.
Microsoft calls the new key technologies in this Windows version as “The Pillars of Vista” (Pillar-Pillar Vista).

Presentations
Windows Presentation Foundation or WPF, formerly code-named Avalon; is a sub-system of the new user interface and a framework based on technology Direct3D (DirectX) and vector-graphics cooperation between the computer hardware technology, 3D graphics with Direct3D . Communication
Windows Communication Foundation or WCF, formerly code-named Indigo; is a system-oriented communication services (service-oriented messaging system) which allows for interoperability programs both locally and remotely similar to a network service (web).

Workflow
Windows Workflow Foundation or WF; first announced in August 2005, will allow automation and integrated transactions using work-flow (workflows).
There was also a development API (Application Program Interface) in signikan new core operating system, especially the addition. NET Framework, the development of completely new audio architecture, networking, printing (print), and video interfaces, major changes in the security infrastructure , increasing for the installation of application programs ( “ClickOnce” and Windows Installer 4.0), a new model for device drivers ( “Windows Driver Foundation”), Transactional NTFS, and large-scale reform for many sub-core systems such as Winlogon and Capi.

There are several issues for the software delevoper using graphics APIs in Vista. Games and programs built on Direct3D Version 10 of Vista, will not work in earlier versions of Windows, because Direct3D 10 is not compatible with Direct3D 9.

XP feature that eliminated
Some of the features and components of well-known Windows XP has also been replaced or removed from Windows Vista. Perhaps most significant is the removal of visible Windows Messenger and MSN Explorer, and replacement with Windows NetMeeting Collaboration. Windows Vista also does not include theme-visual (visual theme) Windows XP “Luna”. Features “Hardware profiles” have been removed, followed by the withdrawal of support for the motherboard technologies such as EISA bus lawas and APM.

Features delayed / canceled
WinFS is the code name for a new file system with the nature of relational database built on an NTFS system and SQL Server 2005. In August 2006, Microsoft announced that WinFS off included in Windows Vista. This is because not yet completed the development of this technology. Microsoft has been working on this technology since the mid-1990s. Originally, Microsoft will launch a separate WinFS from Vista, but on June 23, 2006 return was announced that Microsoft decided to integrate some of the features that have been developed in the next version of ADO.NET and SQL Server, and effectively cancel the WinFS project.

Due to scheduling issues, Windows PowerShell, the code name Monad will not be included in Windows Vista. However, Microsoft has announced that this feature will be available to be downloaded separately in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Security architecture Next-Generation Secure Computing Base is also ignored by Windows Vista, due to still at least a third-party developers to support this system.
Support for Intel’s Extensible Firmware Interface (sort of a new BIOS system) was also canceled due to a lack of support for desktop computers.
PC-to-PC Sync, a technology Peer-to-peer to synchronize folders between computers that are running Vista, also canceled because of quality problems. The possibility of this technology remain to be developed in the future.

Graphical interface
The new interface Vista, Windows Aero, is built on a new engine called Desktop Window Manager. Windows Aero, also known as Aero Glass, adds support for 3D graphics (known as Flip 3D), window transparency, animation, and other visual effects. Windows Aero requires graphics cards and high-end hardware capacity as:
64MB graphics memory is recommended to set 1024×768 screen, and 128MB for 1600×1200 +. at least 32 bits per pixel 3D hardware that supports DirectX accelleration with 9.0memori bandwidth (bandwidth) is recommended 2 GB / s are able to draw ~ 1.5 million triangles / second, with one windows to ~ 150 triangles supports Windows driver Display Driver Model (WDDM).

Vista Aero also offers other models:
Standard Mode, is a variant of Windows Aero without a transparent, animation, and other graphical effects like Flip 3D.
Windows Classic mode, also available as the most basic interface. Classic has a look similar to Windows 2000 and do not use the Desktop Composition Engine new. Classic drivers require Windows XP Display Driver Model (XPDM) or WDDM and graphics card that supports Windows 2000.
