Microsoft has released Windows Server 2008 which features can reduce energy consumption 10% more when compared with Windows Server 2003.
Microsoft to compare energy consumption between two installations on the same server with Dual-Core processor and 4GB RAM. System running on one operating system Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition with SP2 plus repairs, and a single operating system running on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with an existing hard drive on each server.
